They also tracked MUCH more confidently through the piles of sand on the road sides and potholes than my usual 80-psi slicks. Highly recommended for anyone commuting in bad winter road conditions. The one condition they did not work so well in is over about 2 inches of packed snow: they were a bit squirley. They were especially squirley in snow deposited by plows, which I learned to avoid! The tires show little wear despite daily use and I should get another couple winters out of them. All the studs are still intact. I took full advantage of the variable pressure range on these tires (30 to 45 psi I think). On dry days I took 'em up to max pressure and they were much faster. On snowy days I road them at the minimum and they were much grippier. The only drawback, not surprisingly, is that these tires are heavy and slow (and noisy!). But there is an upside to this too: when I put my slicks back on a couple weeks ago I felt like superman.
