2016 RACING AGE: 46
RESIDENCE: Somerville, MA
WHERE I GO MONDAY MORNING: Lowell MA, where I am Assistant City Solicitor
RACING DISCIPLINE(S) AND CATEGORY(S): MTB: Expert/Cat. 1; Road/Cyclocross: Cat. 3
# OF YEARS RACING: 17, on and off.
# OF BIKES OWNED: Approximately 8 - Commuter, road, cyclocross, touring, 26” mtb, 29” mtb, “enduro” mtb, fatbike, "England bike" that lives in my parents' garage in the UK. Also a couple of potential bikes that may one day emerge from parts.
FAVORITE BIKE: Ibis HDR 650: it has the fun factor and a super smooth suspension that is back-approved.
FAVORITE TRAIL OR RIDE: Lowell-Dracut and Russell Mill are my after work go-tos, but I’ll always love the Middlesex Fells because I can ride there from my house. Also love Batchelor St in Granby, western Mass and Tussey Ridge, PA.
NON-CYCLING INTERESTS/HOBBIES: Writing fiction and non-fiction, reading novels. I’ve been working on a novel for the past year.
PERSONAL NOTES & QUOTES: I’m excited to be on the bikeman.com team for 2016 -- I plan to compete mainly in cross country races and perhaps enduro if I feel brave. Like the rest of the world, I’ve enjoyed Anthony’s Doerr’s All The Light We Cannot See this year: “open your eyes and see what you can with them before they close forever.”
